I am working a deal for a Barrett 2050 HF rig with the 2023 modem. I have never used one of these and am unfamiliar with the programming. I realize it can be done via the front panel but what about software? Does it cost or is it free from the company? If there is a fee does anyone know how much it is? I see the 25 pin port on the back has RS232 data lines so I assume a simple 25 pin to whatever style comport is all that's needed cable wise, I hope.

The unit is second hand and the seller has no operational info for me. From Programming by IR or serial port For ease of programming in a vehicle a notebook computer loaded with the 2000 series programming package can load a transceiver's parameters without the need for cables through the remote head IR port. I don't know where you will find the 2000 series software but there is an update for it available for download at.
